General Manager

We're partnering with a growing real estate investment and development firm seeking a seasoned General Manager / Senior Property Manager to oversee a premier mixed-use portfolio in Downtown Pittsburgh, PA. This role offers a rare opportunity to lead a high-profile portfolio while playing a key role in the company's long-term growth strategy.

About the Role

As the senior on-site leader, you'll oversee the overall operational and financial performance of a sophisticated mixed-use portfolio. This highly visible role requires an experienced professional who can operate independently, make sound business decisions, and serve as a trusted partner to ownership.

Today, you'll manage two Class A communities totaling approximately 400 luxury apartment homes, 43,000 square feet of retail space, and 427 parking spaces, along with a small portfolio of nearby residential assets. You'll also help position the company for the addition of a 460-unit development currently in the entitlement phase, which will more than double its Pittsburgh presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day operations for a luxury mixed-use portfolio consisting of residential, retail, and parking assets.
• Drive financial performance through strategic budgeting, expense control, occupancy management, and revenue optimization.
• Develop thoughtful pricing strategies based on market conditions, submarket trends, and asset positioning—not simply automated revenue management recommendations.
• Ensure rents remain competitive and proactively identify opportunities to maximize revenue.
• Build strong relationships with retail tenants, residents, vendors, and ownership.
• Lead, mentor, and support an experienced on-site team while fostering a collaborative, service-focused culture.
• Partner closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure exceptional property appearance and resident satisfaction.
• Oversee leasing performance, resident retention, capital improvements, and operational excellence across multiple buildings.
• Provide strategic insight as the company prepares for significant future development and portfolio expansion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (four-year degree).
• 10+ years of multifamily property management experience.
• Experience managing Class A or luxury multifamily communities.
• Strong financial acumen, budgeting, and operational leadership skills.
• Demonstrated success with pricing strategy and revenue management beyond simply relying on revenue management software.
• Experience overseeing multiple properties and leading high-performing on-site teams.
• Mixed-use, commercial retail, or parking management experience is highly desirable.
• Recent knowledge of the Pittsburgh market, including rental trends, competitive properties, and resident demographics, is strongly preferred.
• Experience with RealPage revenue management required; MRI experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
