About the role
The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring it meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. This is a significant role requiring strong leadership and management skills.
Responsibilities
- Setting and achieving restaurant goals with the help of a leader
- Leading a team of Department Managers to ensure they set their own goals, track progress, and receive coaching and direction
- Hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team for the future
- Managing employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, and staffing
Requirements
- Completion of Business Leadership Capstone/HU Certificate
- Previous General Manager experience running high volume locations
- A background in quick service restaurants or hospitality/review experience
- Must be 18 years or older to manage in corporate-owned restaurants
- Must be a legal U.S. citizen
- Must have a California Manager Food Handler Card verified by an accredited source (training provided at orientation)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Passion for helping and serving others (customers and fellow team members)
- One to two years’ experience leading, motivating, or developing others
- US Military Service experience
- A commitment to excellence and safety in the workplace
- Strong customer service and support focus
- The ability to communicate effectively and anticipate customer needs
- The ability to provide solutions and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
