General Manager

About the role

The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring it meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. This is a significant role requiring strong leadership and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Setting and achieving restaurant goals with the help of a leader
• Leading a team of Department Managers to ensure they set their own goals, track progress, and receive coaching and direction
• Hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team for the future
• Managing employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, and staffing

Requirements

• Completion of Business Leadership Capstone/HU Certificate
• Previous General Manager experience running high volume locations
• A background in quick service restaurants or hospitality/review experience
• Must be 18 years or older to manage in corporate-owned restaurants
• Must be a legal U.S. citizen
• Must have a California Manager Food Handler Card verified by an accredited source (training provided at orientation)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Passion for helping and serving others (customers and fellow team members)
• One to two years’ experience leading, motivating, or developing others
• US Military Service experience
• A commitment to excellence and safety in the workplace
• Strong customer service and support focus
• The ability to communicate effectively and anticipate customer needs
• The ability to provide solutions and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
