About the role
The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring it meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Works with the leader to set the restaurant’s goals and create a plan to achieve them.
- Leads a team of Department Managers, setting their goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their Departments.
- Hires and develops Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team for the future.
- Coaches and helps staff achieve the highest levels of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
- Ensures all staff are knowledgeable in their roles and responsibilities.
- Hires and retains staff.
- Works shoulder-to-shoulder with staff, adhering to all McDonald’s people practices, maintaining crew staffing levels, reducing turnover, and creating a fun atmosphere.
- Analyzes sales trends, identifies sales patterns, and implements programs to capitalize on additional sales opportunities.
- Completes performance reviews for managers and crew members annually.
- Completes monthly cash and security audits, using necessary corrective action where policy is not being followed.
- Introduces new products, procedures, and equipment, while implementing the basic programs and systems of our business.

Requirements
- Previous General Manager experience running high volume locations.
- A background in quick service restaurants or hospitality/re retail.
- Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate owned and operated restaurants.
