The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring it meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. This is a significant role requiring strong leadership and management skills.
Responsibilities
- Works with the leader to set restaurant goals and create a plan to achieve them.
- Leads a team of Department Managers, helping them set goals, monitor progress, and provide coaching and direction.
- Might be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team for the future.
- Manages all aspects of the restaurant, including food production, guest service, and crew work.
- Proactively leads and manages People processes such as recruiting, hiring, onboarding, staffing, performance management, and training.
- Plans for success by making critical business decisions around inventory, budget, and food ordering/costs.
- Takes action to ensure food safety measures are set and achieved to meet McDonald’s standards of excellence.
- Inspires and empowers both guests and employees to maintain high levels of safety.
- Oversees all operational needs of the restaurant, including maintenance plans to meet and exceed standards of excellence.
Requirements
- Previous General Manager experience running high-volume locations.
- A background in quick-service restaurants or hospitality/re retail.
- Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned restaurants.
