About the role
The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Baraboo, WI is seeking a General Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have prior hospitality leadership experience, a familiarity with Marriott and Opera/Power of M, the ability to lead and develop a team, is self-motivated, enjoys networking, and has an interest in sales/marketing.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including revenue, payroll, and expense tracking.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as identified within the employee handbook and management company guidelines.
- Lead and develop the management team, ensuring they follow all company policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage the annual operational and capital budget plans.
- Drive revenue growth through effective sales and marketing initiatives.
- Monitor and control labor and operational expenses for each department manager.
- Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
- Oversee routine maintenance and address property issues promptly.
- Maintain hotel facilities to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for guests and employees.
- Schedule regular property meetings and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and exceptional service.
Requirements
- Previous sales and marketing experience or previous brand experience preferred.
- Ability to learn and understand the hotel’s property management system.
- Good communication skills to effectively and professionally deal with hotel guests, general public, and hotel employees.
- Ability to handle guest and/or employee issues, concerns, or conflicts.
- Ability to establish and build successful rapport with guests and hotel employees.
- Able to inspire and motivate employees to work together as a team and foster empowerment within the hotel.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of P&L statements and ability to react with impactful strategies.
- Experience with revenue management meetings and STR reports.
- Physical abilities to lift up to 50 lbs. and sit/stand for long periods of time.
