About the role
BugMD is one of eJam's flagship brands, offering clean label pest control solutions that consumers love and is ready for its next chapter of growth. The General Manager is the senior executive who leads BugMD, owning the brand P&L and steering strategy and execution across every channel we sell in: DTC, Marketplaces, and Retail.
Responsibilities
- Own the BugMD P&L end to end, with accountability for revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and growth.
- Build and execute the strategic plan to scale the brand north of $200M while protecting margin integrity, and lead annual and quarterly planning across Growth, Retail Sales, Operations, Marketplace, and Finance.
- Drive strategy and performance across every channel, including DTC, Marketplace, and Retail. Partner with the Retail Sales Lead to grow retail velocity and execute major customer timelines, and with the Head of Growth on CAC and MER strategy, retention, the influencer ecosystem, and channel diversification.
- Develop a high-performance executive team across Brand, Retail Sales, and Growth and install the daily rhythms that create clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
- Foster a results driven, low ego, high ownership culture.
- Serve as the primary executive interface for investors, the Board, and future strategic buyers, supporting growth equity partners with transparent reporting, capital planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Build a business with strong acquirer appeal: category growth, household penetration, defensible distribution, repeat purchase rate, and velocity.
Requirements
- 10-20+ years in CPG, including at least one leadership role with full P&L ownership.
- A track record of scaling a consumer brand past $100M, ideally beyond $200M, or through an exit event.
- Experience operating across DTC, Amazon, and Retail at the same time, with a strong command of omnichannel dynamics.
- Experience growing and managing the Retails Sales channel from infancy.
- Experience leading or supporting fundraising, board meetings, and investor relationships, with the credibility to earn the trust of investors, advisers, and strategic partners.
- Deep general management skills across operations, finance, commercialization, and go to market, paired with strong financial literacy: contribution margin, working capital, S&OP, cost structure, trade spend, and EBITDA drivers.
- Highly commercial and data driven, who elevates teams, holds high standards, and leads with low entitlement and high accountability.
- Working knowledge of the advertising, product safety, and retail compliance expectations relevant to a consumer products business.
- A build to exit mindset, genuine comfort with fast moving environments, and the judgment to challenge Growth, Marketing, and Finance with the right questions rather than micromanage.
