General Manager
About the role
The General Manager oversees all aspects of restaurant operations and leads all Management and Hourly Team Members. This role requires a minimum of 1-year experience as a General Manager or Executive Kitchen Manager in a fast casual or full-service restaurant, or 2 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager in a fast casual or full-service restaurant. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be results-driven, and demonstrate financial acumen.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations
- Adhere to policies and manage assigned operating systems
- Ensure collaboration between kitchen and front of house operations
- Represent company values and create a respectful, positive, and professional work environment
- Manage people by approving hourly team member hiring decisions, ensuring management team effectively directs work groups, strategically navigating challenges, and mentoring and developing the LYFE Kitchen team
- Focus on service and ensure execution of all food, service, and facility standards
- Take steps to ensure financial metrics are met to achieve results
- Manage a safe and healthy work environment and uphold food safety standards
- Effectively operate computer systems including a POS System, Online Team Member Scheduler, Inventory/Ordering software, and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Maintain a professional image by adhering to guidelines listed in the Team Member Handbook
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum age requirement of 21 years
- Minimum 1-year experience as a General Manager or Executive Kitchen Manager in a fast casual or full-service restaurant or 2 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager in a fast casual or full-service restaurant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results-driven; able to coach teams to hit restaurant targets (e.g., Wine Club Community growth)
- Demonstrates financial acumen
- Extensive food knowledge and standards (Executive Kitchen Manager level)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- PREFERRED: Certifications include ServSafe and state/local licensing requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Must be able to stand for at least 10 hours per shift
- Must be able to work 50-60 hours per week
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and some holidays
