About the Role
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking General Manager to join our team. In this role, you will set the strategic direction of your assigned market, develop and grow the business, and maintain the existing business and customer base. You will work strategically and collaboratively with other Convergint Business Leaders to support overall business development, account management, execution, and servicing of customers. The General Manager has ultimate financial accountability and responsibility for business results.
Responsibilities
- Create, gain approval for, and ensure the business achieves the annual business plan through sales, revenue, and profitability goals.
- Report, adjust, and modify business plans and budgets throughout the year as necessary.
- Develop and gain agreement for all related business/department budgets.
- Manage and monitor customer/client satisfaction levels and provide interventions when necessary.
- Monitor and maintain colleague satisfaction levels.
- Direct local recruiting, selection, and hiring activities of operations personnel in conjunction with the HR Department and National Operations.
- Oversee and approve all colleague issues including offer letters, policy changes, terminations, and disciplinary actions in cooperation with HR.
- Approve and control all company expenditures and ensure maintenance of all assets.
- Approve and control the intake of all "installed business" sales orders and ensure delivery at or above booked/estimated margins.
- Ensure all business operations—sales, service delivery, project management, risk management, and human resources—are conducted in compliance with established best practices, processes, and policies.
- Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies and act as an ambassador for the company both internally and externally.
- Conduct performance management throughout the year, including annual performance evaluations and salary planning.
- Keep current on company products and policies; disseminate appropriate information promptly to department personnel and enforce company policies when needed.
- Adhere to and promote all safety programs in place at Convergint in all locations.
- Take responsibility and accountability for business activity conducted through and on behalf of Convergint in your assigned location.
- Provide support, guidance, counsel, direction, and management to sales and operations teams.
- Manage the organization consistent with the company’s published Values and Beliefs.
- Successfully implement and communicate overall business strategies initiated by the CEO/President throughout the organization.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

- Advanced financial analytical skills, including cost control.
- Expert ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
- Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- A strong understanding of the local market and local industry.
Qualifications
- Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience. Technical diploma and/or equivalent trade experience preferred. Diploma or bachelor's degree in management desirable.
- Minimum Experience: 10+ years in Business/People Management, 8 years in Financial Management, Sales Management, Operations/Project Management.
- Business/Market knowledge pertaining to one or all of Electronic Security, Fire Alarm & Life Safety, Healthcare Technologies, Communications, and Building Automation.
