General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will lead ComSonics' manufacturing operations in Weyers Cave, Virginia, focusing on operational excellence, profitability, and team engagement.

Responsibilities

• Translate business objectives into actionable operational plans
• Set strategy, align people and processes, and ensure high-quality, safe, efficient, and timely product delivery
• Partner with leaders across the organization to achieve results
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Develop and lead a team of managers and supervisors
• Coach and mentor managers and supervisors
• Create a strong leadership depth within the team
• Own the financial performance of manufacturing operations by developing and managing budgets, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying cost-saving opportunities, and driving process improvements
• Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives, Six Sigma projects, and technology upgrades to improve productivity, efficiency, and scalability
• Ensure delivery commitments are met and product quality consistently exceeds expectations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with preferred electronics manufacturing experience
• Confident, approachable leadership with strong communication skills and a proven ability to drive results through people
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
• A strong understanding of safety, environmental compliance, and quality systems
• Comfort with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

Pay

Base Salary Range: $99,723 - $149,584 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs. Offers are typically aligned within the lower to mid-range of the salary band, depending on experience and alignment with role requirements.
