General Manager
About the role
The Inspection Center General Manager at Carvana is responsible for overseeing the performance of the center, leading up to 500 associates in a lean manufacturing environment. The role involves strategic planning, production management, people management, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Leadership: Leads strategic planning to meet future demands, provides vision and guidance, ensures alignment with Carvana culture, and engages the team to improve quality and performance.
Production Management: Oversees production planning, reviews weekly performance, identifies and resolves issues, ensures compliance with health and safety guidelines, and maintains operating standards.
People Management: Participates in hiring and training processes, mentors leaders, and provides feedback.
Continuous Improvement: Selects and leads continuous improvement events, allocates resources, and holds teams accountable for results.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing environments.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Proven ability to develop and lead associates.
Ability to work flexible schedules and in fast-paced, changing environments.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong analysis and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in computer skills.
Qualifications
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions and use personal protective equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and walk up to three miles each day.
