About the role
The General Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and financial performance of the location. Key responsibilities include hiring, training, and managing staff, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manages hiring, scheduling, training, and performance of Team Members
- Maintains profit and loss statement
- Ensures strict adherence to and enforcement of all company safety policies and procedures
- Completes performance evaluations and conducts daily safety meetings
- Conducts coaching and issues corrective action; approves payroll
- Maintains cleanliness of the shop and sales floor
- Manages product and equipment inventories
- Completes weekly inventory counts and tire counts
- Ensures service equipment is in good working condition and well maintained
- Reviews and reconciles invoices daily
- Resolves problems that cannot be handled at a lower level
- Conducts shop training meetings and communicates pricing promotions and policy/procedure changes
- Evaluates, documents, and communicates any return job problems to the Corporate office
- Updates national accounts weekly
- Ensures all procedure manuals are available for employees
- Works alongside Team Members on the shop and sales floors
- Provides friendly and competent customer service
- Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled
Requirements
- Three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current valid driver's license and insurable to drive
- Basic keyboarding and computer skills
- Able to work a minimum of 50 hours per week
- Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed
- Able to communicate in English
Qualifications
- Ability to get DOT, TIA, and other certifications
- Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service
- Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members
Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in computer operations and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
