Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation’s top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced General Manager to lead our Bismarck division’s project management activities while ensuring alignment with AP’s strategic goals and mission. Provide strategic leadership for a focused sub-region by managing internal operations and developing new opportunities in the marketplace while ensuring alignment with AP’s strategic goals and mission. Work with the regional leadership team and other regions across the company to build collaboration and market strength. Provide primary client interface in the sub-region, develop new business, participate in regional planning, and support all corporate policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Take personal accountability for working safely within an Incident and Injury (IIF) culture.
• Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern within the organization that reinforces the behavioral aspects of working and living safely.
• Maintain a relationship with safety to hold responsibility for personal safety, the safety of each person in the company, and the IIF performance of the entire workforce.
• As a leader, consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.
• Be willing to discuss a personal commitment and desire for all employees to work safely and attain an IIF workplace.
• As a leader, ensure that processes and procedures that support an IIF culture are maintained and reviewed for continuous improvement.
• Partner with the regional leadership team members to develop and implement specific strategies, develop territorial business plans, and drive business unit results in the sub-region.
• Engage and assess the performance of company resources.
• Ensure projects are delivered to clients’ expectations within time and budget parameters.
• Oversee and ensure operational integrity of all projects.
• Ensure all jobs in the subdivision meet AP and client quality standards.
• Lead subregional business operations in a holistic, balanced way to maximize performance and profitability.
• Build and preserve operational excellence; implement operational best practices.
