General Manager 3 Food - Schools (Enrollment < 2,500)

About the role

Lead a high-impact K-12 food service program for a potential sale, guiding operations, teams, service quality, and client partnerships. Seek a strategic, hands-on leader; Spanish-English bilingual skills preferred. Prior school nutrition or food service leadership experience required. Candidates must meet applicable USDA professional standards and be prepared to lead compliant, high-quality meal service operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring exceptional quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Guide and develop the team while managing financial performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients and customers to support sustained success.
• Manage people, set direction, and deploy resources; responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions.
• Achieve results primarily through the work of others; influence and negotiate across the organization.
• Drive operational excellence while meeting financial goals and performance targets.
• Develop meaningful client and customer partnerships that enhance service quality and loyalty.
• Manage large-scale, fast-paced food service operations.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Management Experience: 3 years
• Related Experience: 4 years

• Proven experience in food service management or directorship, preferably in large or complex settings.
• Leadership skills with a track record of building positive team culture, employee retention, and staff development.
• Solid financial expertise, including budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis.
• Hands-on, results-oriented approach with the skillset to support and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally and maintain strong client relationships.

Pay

$64,600 per year – $100,430 per year

Eligible to participate in Sodexo’s incentive plan and earn variable compensation in addition to base salary.
