General Manager 2 Food - Schools (Enrollment < 2,500)

About the role

Lead dining operations supporting the Foster‑Glocester Regional School District and neighboring school communities, serving 2,200 students across 5 schools. This highly visible leadership role offers a primarily Monday‑Friday schedule, multi‑site management experience, and the opportunity to lead USDA‑compliant school nutrition programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring exceptional quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Guide and develop your team while managing financial performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients and customers to support sustained success.
• Manage people, set direction, deploy resources; responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions.
• Achieve results through the work of others, influencing and negotiating with parts of the organization.
• Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes or programs, which may include dotted‑line or matrixed management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.

Skills

• Expertise in USDA regulations, NSLP/NSBP administration, food safety, compliance, and team development.
• Hands‑on leadership in school nutrition, coaching employees and delivering exceptional service.
• Proven success managing budgets, labor, training, and multi‑site food service operations.
• Tech‑savvy, highly organized, relationship‑focused, able to balance strategy with hands‑on leadership.
• Proven experience in food service management or directorship, preferably in large or complex settings.
• Leadership skills with a track record of building positive team culture, employee retention, and staff development.
• Solid financial expertise, including budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis.
• Hands‑on, results‑oriented approach capable of supporting and motivating teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional work and strong client relationships.

Pay

Pay Range: $61,710 per year – $79,860 per year. Eligible to participate in Sodexo's incentive plan and earn variable compensation in addition to base salary.

Schedule

Primarily Monday‑Friday schedule.
