General Maintenance Worker III

Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician III to join our team in Pearl River, NY.

Schedule

Typical work schedule is 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday-Friday. Hours may vary based on business demand.

Responsibilities

• Performing painting, general carpentry, drywall repair, hanging pictures, hanging whiteboards, carpet repairs, floor tile replacement, ceiling tile replacement, replacing light bulbs, and repair or replace door hardware.
• Interior prepping and painting of office spaces, hallways, restrooms, meeting rooms, equipment rooms, lobbies, and other areas.
• Drywall or wallpaper repair and assisting with general maintenance activities.
• Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility in day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
• Operate a variety of equipment such as laptop computers, hand, and power tools.
• Provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders.
• Complete necessary work order documentation as required in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Resolve work problems and assist other employees in solving work problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.

Requirements

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Three years of experience as a residential and/or commercial painter or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify and correct safety-related issues.
• Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
• Ability to work from heights, ladders, and elevated platforms.
• Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• May require a valid Driver’s License.
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
• Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitively during shift.
• Regularly kneel repetitively for shift.
• Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
• Use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
• Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
• Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
• Ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Cope with demands (stressors) associated with the job and/or work environment to maintain acceptable levels of performance.

Pay

$32.00 - $35.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
