General Maintenance Worker/Driver

About the role

Established in 1902, Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum offers a serene environment where families can pay their respects to loved ones amidst natural beauty. The park takes great care to ensure that the grounds are maintained beautifully and that families feel secure and at peace during their time of need.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and clean debris, weeds, and perform other cleaning and maintenance activities as needed
• Perform gardening and landscaping tasks throughout the cemetery
• Operate equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, bronze trimmers, and other heavy equipment as needed
• Lift and move bronze memorials, cement foundations, sod, plywood, etc.
• Carry caskets during internments and entombments, as required during the day-to-day cemetery operations

Requirements

• Must be ready, willing, and able to work weekends
• Must possess a valid, unexpired Driver's License
• Must be able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work outdoors under any weather conditions
• Must be able to remain on feet for continuous periods of time
• Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Must be able to walk considerable distances during the work-shift
• Must be able to lift, rise, and lower objects from one level to another
• Must be able to pull, push, and carry large amounts of weight (50-100 lbs.) at any given time

Pay

$28.76 per hour

Schedule

This is a seasonal/temporary position starting on or around March 2026.
