General Maintenance Worker

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform minor fixes, such as ceiling tiles, damage to walls, replacing lightbulbs, etc.
• Installing necessary equipment as needed
• Checking system controls and critical systems, logging information as required
• Completing minor adjustments as needed
• Performing necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
• Completing regular maintenance tasks, such as Preventive Maintenance work requests
• Inspecting and troubleshooting various equipment and systems
• Testing the functionality of the facility’s safety systems
• Reporting to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience, And Skill Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate setting
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A general passion for creative problem-solving

Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods
• Climb a ladder
• Stand for long periods of time
• Perform constant arm extensions
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable
• May involve minor safety hazards where the likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
