General Maintenance Worker

About the role

This position involves performing general maintenance and repair tasks for buildings and equipment, requiring practical skills in various trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform generator maintenance.
• General maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, including:
  • Painting
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Masonry
  • Electrical work
• Change filters and belts in air handlers.
• Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and lights.
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a general maintenance worker or similar role (five years preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, etc.).
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of general maintenance experience.
• Experience working on DOD contracts.

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors and drive in extreme heat, cold, and rainy weather.
• Constant state of mental alertness and situational awareness.
• Stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Talk, hear, taste, or smell.
• Lift and/or move items weighing 50-75 pounds.
• Use hand tools to perform job duties.

Work Environment

• Exposure to varying environmental conditions while maintaining situational awareness.

Additional Requirements

• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Obtain and maintain appropriate clearance levels and access to military installations if applicable to the contract.

Pay

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour.
