About the Role

Provides general carpentry and painting to maintain, repair, and renovate the physical structure. Performs basic HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services to efficiently operate facilities. Tests, monitors, and operates equipment and chemicals for water supply. Removes snow using various types of equipment. Assists in maintaining grounds as required.

Work is typically performed in an office environment on a 136-acre campus, supporting a healing environment for those on their recovery journey. Hours for this position are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with on-call rotation required.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment, and general building components.
  • Performs general carpentry in support of alterations and renovations, including masonry tasks when necessary.
  • Installs drywall, floor and ceiling systems; prepares surfaces with joint compound, caulking, and sanding.
  • Removes hardware and other items; places masking tape and drop cloths to protect surfaces.
  • Sets up scaffold and ladders for safe usage.
  • Applies paints, stains, and varnishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns; returns finished area to working order.
  • Uses and maintains equipment for snow removal, including truck-mounted snow plow, tractor-mounted snow plow, snow throwers, shovels, and brooms.
  • Checks fluid levels and performs minor equipment repairs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and equipment checks, including fire extinguishers, air filter cleaning and changes, belt changes, and lubrication of rotating equipment.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures, domestic water piping, steam piping, valves, radiators, sanitary drains, sewers, holding tanks, and sewage pumps.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical conduits, raceways, wires, cables, circuit breakers, and replaces light bulbs and lamps.
  • Runs computer and other non-protected cables.
  • Removes snow and ice and spreads salt.
  • Maintains grounds by mowing and trimming lawns, pruning hedges and trees, cleaning litter, raking leaves, and cleaning roadway drains, gutters, and roof drains.
  • Uses and maintains grounds keeping equipment, including lawn mowers, tractors, trimmers, chain saws, rakes, and brooms.
  • Maintains all tools and equipment in safe and operable condition; reports problems to supervisor.
  • Maintains accurate daily records of time and materials.
  • Communicates, works with, and assists other maintenance team members as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required).
  • Minimum of 3 years of skilled labor experience (Required).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
