About the role
B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, a subsidiary of the largest private real estate company in the Washington, D.C. area with over 130 years of operation, is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to support engineering operations at Spark by Hilton Germantown. This role involves maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, and asset protection across hotel property, outside grounds, and equipment, ensuring high standards of quality and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Engineering: Maintain property assets; assist with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, and capital expenditures; understand the financial impact of asset maintenance.
- Guest service: Respond to guest requests promptly and positively; assist guests with room repairs and common area maintenance; set an example for exceptional guest service.
- Maintenance solutions: Assess and evaluate property assets through preventative maintenance; recommend maintenance service solutions in collaboration with managers.
- Standard operating procedures: Learn, understand, and execute engineering SOPs with the Chief Engineer.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively across departments to meet guest needs; contribute to team efforts as assigned.
- Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, and regulatory standards; use personal protective equipment as needed; follow incident procedures.
- Self-management: Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties; adhere to attendance policies, work rules, and department procedures; attend required meetings.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- CPO and appliance repair certification desired, or ability to obtain based on property needs.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
- Attention to detail, customer-focused, and ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
