General Maint. Tech IV-Construction. (#011385) Inmate Construction, Columbia (RICHLAND)

Responsibilities

• Construction and renovation of existing and new SCDC facilities
• Extensive working knowledge of principles and techniques of building codes and ability to read blueprints
• Supervision of an inmate work crew
• Knowledge of metal building erection and forming and pouring concrete
• Position may require overtime and participation in on-call rotation
• Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma and five (5) years of experience in all phases of construction field with knowledge of South Carolina Procurement Regulations
• Ability to supervise, direct, instruct, interact, and work with other people
• Ability to prioritize and handle emergency situations quickly and efficiently
