Responsibilities
- Responsible for construction and renovation of existing and new SCDC Facilities.
- Must have an extensive working knowledge of principles and techniques of building codes and be able to read blueprints.
- Responsible for the supervision of an inmate work crew.
- Knowledge of metal building erection and forming and pouring concrete.
- Position may require overtime and participation in on-call rotation.
- Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and five (5) years of experience in all phases of construction field with knowledge of South Carolina Procurement Regulations.
- Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct, interact, and work with other people.
- Must be able to prioritize and handle emergency situations quickly and efficiently.
Schedule
Position may require overtime and participation in on-call rotation.
