General Maint. Tech III (#015026) Lieber Correctional Inst, Ridgeville (DORCHESTER) Level 3
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures proper maintenance and preventive maintenance of all institutional security equipment.
- Performs checks, maintains, and repairs security fire doors.
- Reviews and approves requisitions for supplies/equipment associated with security equipment maintenance.
- Prepares cost estimates for security equipment maintenance.
- Initiates requisitions for tools, security keys/locks, and materials for security equipment maintenance.
- Maintains and controls spare parts for emergency repairs.
- Serves in "on-call" status to handle minor problems in other areas (plumbing, HVAC).
- Directly supervises inmate workers.
Requirements
- Successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment.
- Relevant experience may substitute for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
- A high school diploma and 3 years professional experience in institutional general maintenance, construction, and repair.
