About the practice
The Pittsburgh office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an attorney to join its General Liability Practice. The practice comprises over 600 attorneys nationwide who have successfully represented defendants in significant exposure cases across numerous general liability areas. The group defends a wide range of property and personal injury claims for businesses and individuals, both insured and self-insured. While equipped to handle diverse matters, the practice excels in the litigation and trial of catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex litigation cases. Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case management, motion practice, and discovery
- Handle hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
- Represent clients in catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex litigation matters
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates on trial preparation and strategy
Requirements
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (required)
- One (1) to fifteen (15) years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Strong research and writing skills
- Experience in all phases of litigation: case management, motion practice, discovery, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials
Qualifications
Although insurance defense experience is preferred, the firm is also interested in talented attorneys with excellent litigation skills from any litigation arena. Candidates should have substantive litigation experience and seek an opportunity in a growing, collaborative environment.
