About the role
Big impact, real ownership – You’ll step into a growing Civil Defense team and immediately own your caseload, all while backed by a sharp and supportive legal team. Hybrid work options available after onboarding, plus a sane, sustainable caseload.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a full caseload of civil defense matters from start to finish
- Handle all phases of litigation: pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial prep
- Draft client and carrier reports, analyze claims, and identify defense strategy
- Participate in settlement conferences, court appearances, and mediations
- Collaborate with firm leadership and mentor junior attorneys as needed
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience defending General Liability and/or Personal Injury claims
- California Bar license in good standing
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience in litigation strategy, client communication, and courtroom appearances
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work autonomously
Qualifications
- Experience with public entity law is a plus
- Bonus points for experience with public entities or municipalities

- Competitive salary between $140,000–$185,000 per year depending on experience
