General Liability Attorney

About the role

The boutique law firm specializes in civil litigation and represents a diverse clientele, including hospitals, medical professionals, national retail and grocery chains, franchised businesses, amusement parks, and other self-insured entities. We handle a comprehensive range of insurance defense matters including medical negligence, premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, personal injury, contract disputes, and general civil claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive case files, including conducting legal research, discovery, and factual investigations
• Review and analyze medical records and detailed medical chronologies
• Draft legal documents including memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and case progress reports
• Represent clients at depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous time records for all billable activities in accordance with firm policies and client requirements
• Meet established billable hour targets while ensuring quality and efficiency in all work product
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Collaborate with team members and support staff to ensure optimal case outcomes
• Stay current on relevant legal developments and industry trends

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
• A robust work ethic and commitment to excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in insurance defense litigation
• Trial experience
• Familiarity with motor vehicle and premises liability matters
