General Liability Associate Attorney

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including case strategy development, discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare formal and informal reports and communicate with clients/insurers.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Participate in court hearings, depositions, and mediations, where the opportunities arise.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • 2+ years of defense litigation experience
  • Experience with litigation involving general liability, premises, products, transportation, employment, or insurance preferred.
  • Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions a must.
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Sophisticated technical skills necessary
  • Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus
