Responsibilities
- General Ledger & Reconciliations
- Account Maintenance: Maintain and update the General Ledger (including account roll-ups); enter day-to-day financial data and journal entries with high accuracy.
- Reconciliations: Break down, enter, and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, reimbursable expenses, and intercompany accounts.
- Banking: Perform regular bank statement reconciliations (including EWMI & RRI entities).
- Prepaid Accounts: Post and reconcile prepaid account activities.
- Financial Period Close & Reporting
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met.
- P&L Review: Review divisional Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for accuracy prior to closing.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; review and analyze reports to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Revenue Recognition: Co-manage percentage-of-completion accounting records and corresponding journal entries.
- Compliance & Collaboration
- Audit Support: Assist with external audits by preparing required documentation and providing support to auditors as needed.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and provide accounting support.
- Team Alignment: Work closely with all members of the accounting team to ensure financial statements are complete, timely, and prepared in accordance with US GAAP.
- Executive Support: Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects and all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 3–5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and standard accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and accounting software.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future visa sponsorship.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation for onsite workdays.
- Experience in environmental services, waste management, construction, or manufacturing industries.
- Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Familiarity with multi-entity/intercompany accounting and consolidations.
- Prior experience utilizing enterprise accounting ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
