General Laborer - Building Trades
About the role
RQ construction is rapidly becoming a leading player in the commercial and government industry on the East Coast. We have multiple projects throughout the Southeast region and are actively seeking full-time General Laborers to join our team at Naval Station Mayport.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks involving physical labor at a construction site using hand and power tools of all types.
- Assist other craft workers in their duties.
- Clean and prepare sites.
- Remove rubble and debris.
- Remove non-hazardous waste materials.
- Operate one or several types of power construction equipment.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education.
- Two or more years (or equivalent) of field or trade work experience in commercial construction is required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience is preferred.
- A carpentry and equipment background is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications are preferred.
- Specific training or certificates in the following are preferred:
- Forklift/Manlift training and certificate
- Fall protection training
- Scissor lift/boom lift certificate
- OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour training
- Trenching & Shoring training
- Confined Space Training
- Lockout/Tagout training
