General Laborer

Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED preferred; can be replaced with relevant work experience
Reliable transportation
Familiar with grading, concrete, highway, and/or bridge construction and all other highway construction scopes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Carry, load, unload and stack materials.
• Lay out material and assist experienced crew members.
• Dig with pick and shovel.
• Auxiliary with maintenance of traffic to include but not limited to setting out and picking up cones, assisting with lane closures, flagging.
• Auxiliary with dirt and grading operations.
• Shovel, rake, spread and vibrate concrete into place.
• Climb embankments and ladders to carry material to various work sites on project as needed.
• Jackhammer and saw cut concrete.
• Clean up project site of debris.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
• Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
