General Laborer

Responsibilities

• Setting up machines for producing customers' orders
• Operating various types of paper manufacturing machinery
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
• Assisting other departments as needed

Requirements

• Proven record of success in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with various teams and troubleshoot, and adjust equipment as needed
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Working knowledge of Sonoco's products and their quality requirements
• Reliable, initiative-driven, committed, and quality-focused
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and team lift 50 lbs.
• Effective teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Able to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• Able to perform repetitive duties while standing for long periods on concrete floors

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience (preferred)
• Prior Forklift Experience (preferred)

Pay

$26.02 /hr (9 paid holidays, 2 weeks of vacation & 2 Personal Holidays (prorated), after a 60-day probation period)

Schedule

Rotate 12-hour shifts - work week is 48 hours
Overtime: Time and one half after 8 hours in a day
Shift differential: .90 for night shift
