Position Overview

As a General Laborer, you will perform a variety of physical tasks at construction sites, using hand and power tools of all kinds. You may also assist other craft workers with their tasks, including cleaning and preparing sites, clearing debris, and removing non-hazardous waste. Additionally, you may operate one or several types of power construction equipment. All tasks will be carried out in accordance with safety protocols and in alignment with RQ Construction's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Prevailing wages will be paid for work performed on military installations.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• At least two years of field or trade work experience in commercial construction is required; experience in government, military, or large commercial construction projects is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications are preferred.
• Specific training or certifications in the following areas are preferred:
  • Forklift/Manlift training and certification
  • Fall Protection training
  • Scissor lift/boom lift certification
  • OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Trenching and Shoring training
  • Confined Space training
  • Lockout/Tagout training

All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire. Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
