General Laborer
About the role
The General Laborer/Field Service Technician I is responsible for the clean-up and preparation for transportation of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste. This position involves performing various tasks including loading and unloading tanks and tankers with bulk liquids, inspecting equipment, hoses, and connections, and performing confined space entry.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate equipment including pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements, and all local, state, and federal laws.
- Handling, packaging, and transportation of both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous materials.
- Removing materials from tanks, pits, or trenches with hand tools for industrial and environmental cleanup.
- Work in confined spaces above or below ground and on or under equipment.
- Daily work in confined space entry, mechanics, industrial hygiene instrumentation, pneumatic tools, electrical tools, hand tools, and/or other tools as needed.
- Maintain a neat and clean working environment.
- Act as a professional representative of Reworld while acting in an autonomous manner at a customer site.
- Comply with OSHA Health and Safety Rules and complete required training provided by Reworld.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
- Ability to travel 10-25% of the time, including overnight travel.
- Physical Demands of the Role: Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb; Ability to lift/carry 50lbs; Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
