General Laborer

About the role

Full‑time position with a world‑class hardwood lumber manufacturer. Suitable for applicants with resume gaps, those out of the workforce 6+ months, or newcomers/returners with limited experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Work safely – know, understand, and follow NWH safety rules.
• Communicate clearly with peers and leadership via radio in a noisy production setting.
• Make quick decisions using hand‑eye‑foot coordination while maintaining product flow.
• Handle, sort, and stack sanded lumber by dimension, species, and grade.
• Use hand tools and wheel barrows to clean up sawmill debris.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Cross‑train on 2‑3 operator positions within the first 6‑12 months.

Qualifications

• Safety conscious with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent attendance.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Able to work at a fast pace and be detail‑oriented.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

Pay

Starting wage $22.93 per hour, with advancement to $25.14 per hour within the first 90 days based on performance.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday day shift, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm; pre‑scheduled overtime possible.
