General Laborer

About the role

Learning the duties of various roles in the breaker department. This position can work on moving materials one day and scrapping metal the next. This can be a seasonal, part-time, or full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Be able to work indoors/outdoors
• Be able to stand, walk, squat, and kneel throughout the shift
• Must be able to speak English
• Must be willing to learn new skills and advance in the company
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize spacing
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, kitting and picking processes
• Other duties, tasks, and work may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain good housekeeping of designated work area
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds
• Use Pallet/Hand Jacks, box cutters, chop saw, and tape guns
• Detail oriented, great attitude, team player, well organized

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Good time management skills; be able to multi-task
• Ability to work at fast pace
• Work well in a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidential information

Education & Experience

• High school or equivalent GED certification

Physical Demands

• Occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
• Frequent walking
• Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
• Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 25 pounds

Schedule

Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. You are required to be at your workstation from the start of your shift to the completion of your shift Monday thru Friday.
