General Laborer

About the Role

Perform site janitorial duties and general laborer tasks as required. Assist with site clean-up, snow removal, painting, and minor maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain offices, restrooms, dry areas, and lunchrooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Operate vacuums, floor cleaning tools, mops, brooms, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Operate skid steers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, snowplows, snow blowers, and salt spreaders to remove snow from walkways, roadways, and parking lots.
  • Operate sweepers and forklifts as needed.
  • Perform or assist with minor facilities maintenance needs.
  • Conduct routine cleanup of required areas.
  • Complete daily Pre-Task Hazard Assessments and inspections of the work area, correcting any potential hazards.
  • Train or assist in training others as required.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous industrial janitorial, laborer, and small mobile equipment experience preferred.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license required.

HSEC Accountabilities

  • Follow instructions issued to protect personal health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others, the environment, and the community.
  • Report any non-conformance to HSEC requirements within the work area to a manager.
  • Avoid endangering others through any act or omission.
  • Only use equipment you are trained to operate and do so safely, protecting the environment and minimizing community impacts.
  • Participate in HSEC training provided.
  • Report all incidents, including injuries, near misses, community interactions, environmental impacts, spills, and unsafe work practices.
