General Laborer

About the Role

Degesch America, Inc. has immediate openings for Part-Time General Laborers to assist with fumigations in our Tacoma, WA Division Office. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring physical work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. You will work independently and as part of a team, often on call 24/7 when required.

Duties include climbing ladders, steps, and gangways, as well as kneeling, bending, reaching, and crawling to inspect, modify, and treat structures. You may also be required to work on ships or vessels while in the water and obtain a current TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the fumigation process for agricultural commodities and food products.
• Work independently and within a team setting in various environments.
• Climb ladders, steps, and gangways; kneel, bend, reach, and crawl to inspect and treat structures.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be on call 24/7 as required by the position.
• Obtain and maintain a current TWIC card if necessary.
• Work on ships or vessels while in the water when required.
• Follow directions and complete tasks as instructed.

Requirements

• Willingness to work in a manual and physical environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with instructions.
• Willingness to undergo and pass a background check and drug screen.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks, including a drug test.
