General Labor, Recycling Sorter, Chester, VA

We’re hiring General Laborers / Sorters to sort recyclables at a large recycling and processing plant in Chester, VA. Sorting recyclables helps keep our community clean.

About the role

This entry-level position does not require a resume. A candidate's ability to follow directions and the results of the realistic job preview will determine if we consider moving forward in candidacy for a future or present full-time position.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 4 am - 12:30 pm & Friday 2 am - 10:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 12:30 pm - 9 pm & Friday 10:30 am - 7 pm
• Saturdays - As needed

Pay

As a Full-time General Laborer / Sorter, you’ll earn $12.77 per hour with weekly pay.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age or older
• Can lift up to 25 pounds, as needed, and stand for your entire shift
• Consent to a background check (Leadpoint is a second-chance employer)
• Consent to a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position; impairment while working presents a substantial risk of injury, and the company will test for THC)
• Reliable transportation to get to work (many facilities are located near a bus line; carpooling and ride-sharing are promoted)

Qualifications

• Prior warehouse, general labor, or sorting experience is a plus but not required
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
