About the role

We are seeking a General Labor, Bakery – Production- 3rd Shift to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a General Labor team member, you will be accountable for ensuring raw dough and baked products are formed according to specifications while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient production environment that upholds quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across production, proofer, oven, and packing areas in compliance with GMP and safety standards
  • Monitor production equipment (e.g., flour dusters) to ensure proper operation and escalate issues as needed
  • Support product quality and food safety by identifying and reporting contamination risks or defects
  • Execute standard work procedures to ensure consistent production outcomes and minimize variation
  • Conduct daily area inspections to identify issues, reduce waste, and improve performance
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic verbal and written English skills
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs (and up to 100 lbs with assistance)
  • Ability to work in environments with temperature changes, flour dust, and moving machinery

Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality and safety standards in a production setting

Skills

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced production or food manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Experience with continuous improvement methods (e.g., AOE, Centerline, CIL)

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed in this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
