JOB MISSION
At Garrette Homes, our General Labor position plays a vital role in supporting our construction projects by providing general labor assistance, ensuring the maintenance of our communities, and contributing to the quality and success of our homebuilding endeavors. This full-time or temporary full-time position is dedicated to maintaining high standards of workmanship and cleanliness on our job sites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- General Labor Assistance: Assist Site Superintendents with various general labor tasks, including pressure washing, site cleanup, and minor repairs, to ensure project progress.
- Community Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the community by identifying and removing trash and debris, contributing to a clean and well-kept environment.
- Stormwater BMP Maintenance: Occasionally perform stormwater BMP maintenance to control erosion and runoff, contributing to environmental conservation efforts.
- Warranty Item Management: Assist with the warranty item punch list and complete minor touch-up tasks before new home delivery, ensuring a high-quality final product.
- Trade Progress Assessment: Support the Site Superintendent by assessing the progress of trades and attending municipal inspections at scattered lot (OYL) locations as requested.
- Quality Control Checks: Complete General Laborer Quality (QC) check sheets before QC sign-off for New Home Orientations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities: Be adaptable to various duties as assigned by Site Superintendents and the Construction Manager, contributing to the overall success of construction projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Reliable vehicle capable of hauling tools and supplies needed to perform job-related tasks (vehicle allowance provided).
- Ability to regularly and safely use a pressure washer.
- Interest in professional growth and development.
- Knowledge of basic home repairs is beneficial but not required.
- Willingness to obtain Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) license (licensing fees reimbursed by the company).
- Strong work ethic, accountability, reliability, initiative, and personal responsibility for getting the work done.
- Able to maintain records, prioritize tasks, and plan travel schedules to multiple sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
- Position subject to pre-employment drug testing, including THC.
