General Labor

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Shop Manager and shop personnel, the General Laborer will provide assistance to the Electric Motor Mechanics, Winders, and Machinists on repairs, helping to strengthen American industry with best-in-class electro-mechanical and clean energy products and services.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment, noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
• Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies using various methods, including parts washers/steamers.
• Lift, tighten, adjust, and/or secure heavy objects to perform work duties.
• Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment.
• Assist in the rewind of various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Observe all safety procedures and policies, using proper protective equipment (eye, ear protection, steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.).
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Adhere to all company policies.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma is required.
• Technical Certification or Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.
• Mechanical skills in troubleshooting, electrical theory, and understanding of AC and DC motors desired.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office products is ideal.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
• Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
