About the role
The position is available for hourly full-time work at Carson Container located at 1350 E. 223rd Street, Carson, CA 90745.
Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks safely in accordance with company rules and facility guidelines
- Counting and stacking finished product
- Reading factory orders
- Safely operate necessary areas of machinery
- Utilize basic shop math while inspecting product (reading tape measure, gauges, and other testing equipment)
- Effectively follow directions to complete quality inspections and administrative document checks with accuracy
- Ensure proper housekeeping of the work area is clean, organized, and maintained especially during production downtimes
- Perform clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, and picking up and shredding scrap
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Ability to work with a safety-first mindset and actively participate in the IP safety culture
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to perform physical, hands-on tasks in various departments
- Able to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary
- Willingness to learn production processes
- Able to work in a team setting with a fast-paced environment
- Organizing skills, basic math skills, comprehension skills, and safety observations
- Able to effectively communicate with the team, productions supervisors, and maintenance crew
