General Labor

General Laborers support daily manufacturing and production operations throughout the facility. Team members may work in corrugator, printing, finishing, or shipping departments while assisting with machine operation, material handling, quality inspections, housekeeping, and equipment support. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship. Essential Responsibilities Operate or assist in the operation of manufacturing and production equipmentAssist with machine setup, startup, changeovers, operation, and cleaningPrepare materials and retrieve paper and supplies needed for production runsAccurately report time, production, and material usageEnter production information, measurements, and job data into computer systemsPerform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure product specifications are metUse measuring devices to verify dimensions and maintain quality standardsReport equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, safety concerns, and quality issuesAssist with troubleshooting production equipment Operate forklifts and clamp trucks following proper training and certificationHand stack, flip, sort, and organize corrugated boxes and materialsFill in for crew members during vacations, absences, and staffing needsFollow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications High school diploma or GED requiredManufacturing experience preferred but not requiredStable work historyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectivelyCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementAbility to accurately use measuring tools such as tape measuresAbility to learn and safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, manufacturing equipment, and hand toolsMust successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical examination Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 poundsAbility to stand and work on concrete floors for 8 to 10 hours per shiftAbility to perform repetitive tasks involving hand stacking, flipping, sorting, and stacking corrugated boxesAbility to work safely in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, including hot conditionsAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Schedule & Compensation Must be available to work 1st Shift or 2nd ShiftCompetitive hourly wageShift differential available for 2nd ShiftPay increase upon successful completion of the 90-day probationary period Benefits - After successfully completing the 90-day probationary period, employees become eligible for: Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Short term disability401(k) retirement planPaid vacation11 paid holidays annuallyAnnual safety shoe allowancePrescription safety eyewear programOpportunities for advancement and career growth Company Overview Started in 1933, Green Bay Packaging Inc. is a family-owned, vertically integrated company consisting of corrugated container plants, a folding carton facility, recycled and virgin containerboard mills, pressure-sensitive label roll stock plants, timberlands, a paper slitting operation, and a sawmill facility.
