General Labor

Job Summary

DFA Dairy Brands has immediate job openings for adaptable general laborers to perform all-purpose duties, which may include unloading materials and ingredients for plant or warehouse use, transferring and storing raw and finished products, and operating onsite equipment and machinery in a safe manner. General laborers will be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and communicate effectively with all departments.

Job Description

• Unloads materials and ingredients for plant use
• Packaging or stacking product under non-mechanical means
• Makes assignments to one or more areas throughout the plant / freezer
• Loads/unloads stacks and moves items as assigned
• Sorts, bundles, fills containers or places in assembled units
• Mark or puts identifying labels on product loads
• Records movement of stock in/out of work areas
• Maintains materials, products and equipment at each step of the process and reports irregularities to supervisor
• Performs any other assigned tasks

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Passes all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and assist others when lifting is required
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays

Pay

$31.96 per hour

Schedule

This schedule will rotate depending on the need.
