About the Role

Clean flame cut parts and mark them with the appropriate information. Inspect cut quality and ensure parts are dimensionally correct while following all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Remove all slag and sharp edges from cut parts.
• Cut lead in/out off parts.
• Verify dimensions of parts are within customer tolerance.
• Mark appropriate information on parts according to the work order.
• Fill out inspection form and record in ERP system.
• Keep work area clean and clear of tripping hazards.
• Package parts.
• Assist in repairing burning tables.
• Assist in loading rail cars.
• Operate cranes as needed.
• Remove scale from furnace cars and base.
• Profile plates after rolling with appropriate tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Hand/eye coordination.
• Computer knowledge.
• Operate forklift and crane.
• Banding of parts to a pallet.
• Operate hand tools, grinder, hand torch, etc.

Physical Demands

• Standing for long periods of time.
• Occasional kneeling/crouching.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Extended periods of time using hand tools.

Work Environment

• Rolling mill and steel service center environment.
• Work in hot and cold temperatures.
• Work in noisy, dusty conditions.
