General Labor

About the role

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking to fill multiple General Labor positions. These are year-round, full-time positions offering an excellent benefits package upon completion of a standard probationary period.

Essential Job Functions

• Work rotating 12-hour shifts - 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and/or 6:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M.
• Must be available and willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Read and comprehend written instructions including safety procedures, safety signs, schedules, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and manufacturing standards and procedures in English.
• Use common hand tools.
• Perform general cleaning and sanitation operations.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, and move equipment as needed.
• Comfortable in year-round outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, and working around moving mechanical equipment.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience working in an industrial setting preferred.

Pay

$19.94 per hour.

Schedule

12-hour rotating shift.
