About the role
This position is an individual contributor entry Assembler role responsible for primarily pulling cable as needed in the assembly of concrete poles in accordance with the company’s written procedures. The incumbent will also assist in various tasks related to the pole assembly process, pole inspection, and post-job cleanup.
Schedule
- 1st Shift - 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
- 2nd Shift - 3:00 pm - 1:00 am
Pay
$19+ per hour
Responsibilities
- Cable Pulling: Verify the strand, pull the strand and place it into the tip tension plate, pull cable, cut the strand, and place the strand at the base tension plate.
- Assembly of Pole: Remove straps from coils; install strand and spiral; install chucks on strand; mark hole patterns; cut cable; operate skill saw; mark poles; untangle spiral; tighten rebar; verify mold; cut slacks with chop saw; insert slacks; tie slacks; inspect plates; install 8mm wire, chucks on 8mm wire, strand and spiral wire, structure rings, ground wire, ground tanks and rings; use tie gun properly; follow the safe sequence to assemble a cage; recognize materials needed; pull spiral to proper pitch; use detention strand, wire puller; pull and install rings.
- Pole Inspection: Work with lubrication mold operators on group reinforcement tension stands and cranes. Produce and control the correct implementation of the reinforced basket. Correct and fix pre-stressing steel cars on the spire. Work with crane operators to transfer products from basket to tension stand. Report defects and faults to the manager. Perform strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours in extreme environmental conditions. Gather, inspect, repair, and replace reusable materials and components for production rotation. Comply with general OHS, fire safety instructions, and workplace instructions.
- Post-Job Cleanup: Perform basic cleanup duties, general housekeeping, use basic hand tools, and read a tape measure. Clean the general work area and ensure equipment, tools, and materials are properly stored.
- Other duties as assigned by management staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is highly desirable but not required.
- One year of general labor experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to chemicals and irritating particulates.
- Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
Qualifications
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic mathematics (fractions and measurements).
- English comprehension (read and write).
- More than one year of general labor experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with concrete or in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of reading a tape measure and using basic hand tools.
