General Worker Essential Functions/Duties
- Work Within Greenhouse Teams To Assure Quality Products Are Delivered To Our Customers, Maintain Area Cleanliness, Follow Instructions, And Act In Accordance To Rules And Regulations Set By TGE.
- Some Functions May Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Production/Growing/Maintenance
- Install/maintain irrigation systems and water lines.
- Dig and maintain ditches, clear debris from field and clean/maintain greenhouse buildings, structures, equipment, and agricultural work areas.
- Aid with building, maintaining, or repairing greenhouse/farm areas.
- Build/repair fences or barriers.
- Build, maintain, or break down racks.
- Follow instructions in a way that will produce high quality work within the projected time.
- Aids and performs equipment maintenance on Greenhouse technology and systems including but not limited to: Greenhouse structures, greenhouse work areas, heating systems, cooling systems, irrigation systems, growing equipment, electrical systems, guest worker housing, and general grounds.
- Aids and performs installations, maintenance/repairs, or construction tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures on a scheduled basis. Including cleaning, testing, treating, and calibrating per Maintenance Supervisor/Manager instructions.
- Maintain and utilize maintenance equipment and safety gear.
- Inspect properties and communicate with Maintenance Supervisor/Manager regarding proper grounds keeping, general cleanup, and maintenance.
- Assist with various projects around the greenhouse as needed and directed by their Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have basic proficiency in electrical/plumbing repair. (Including but not limited to 1-3 years’ experience working in greenhouse maintenance OR completing basic residential repairs including: connecting a sink, digging drainage tunnels, laying down new pipes, identifying a breaker, connecting wires under supervision, and following safety requirements related to electrical safety such as lock-out tag-out.)
- Must be able to complete work at heights above 10 feet while using adequate fall protection.
- Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently push/pull racks on wheels of up to 100lbs, and occasionally move benches or product of up to 50 pounds.
- The job requires employees to be on their feet for long periods of time, sit, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch or crawl.
