Novant Health Surgical Institute is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join their established team in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate is board certified/eligible and has a background in providing full-spectrum GI care. ERCP and EUS experience is preferred but not required. The position primarily sees patients in the office and performs outpatient procedures; hospital call is minimal.

About the Role

The group consists of 8 physicians, with one providing GI hospitalist care weekly and 10 APPs. The practice is affiliated with Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, the only level II trauma center in southeastern North Carolina.

Responsibilities

Primarily see patients in the office and perform outpatient procedures. Hospital call is minimal. The position requires a commitment to patient-centered care and a seamless system of care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited medical school required. Completion of an accredited residency program in internal medicine or gastroenterology is required. Specialty fellowship in gastroenterology is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Current MD or DO license in the appropriate state. Board certification or eligibility in gastroenterology. Current DEA license required.

Skills

Experience with ERCP and EUS is preferred but not required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
