About the Role
Trumbull Corporation is hiring a General Foreman to lead crews on the Long Bridge South project in Arlington, VA, a high-profile Design-Build rail infrastructure project over the Potomac River connecting Arlington and Washington, D.C. that offers a unique and challenging career-building opportunity. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive job site - setting the pace, communicating the plan, and ensuring crews have what they need to safely and efficiently complete the work. The Foreman also determines project scope and set-up requirements (traffic control, equipment, trucks, materials) and oversees daily production and crew supervision to ensure work meets contract specifications.

Typical Duties
- Lead crew with a clear plan to complete work safely, efficiently, and per production goals
- Read, interpret, and follow plans, specifications, and work plans
- Assist in developing construction work plans
- Coordinate with the Superintendent on material and equipment delivery
- Complete field paperwork and maintain daily cost/budget communication with project staff
- Collect material delivery tickets and turn in documentation daily
- Lead and direct crew with clear, professional, respectful communication
- Identify changed conditions or out-of-scope work and notify Superintendent/Project Engineering before proceeding
- Maintain crew productivity and motivation through challenges
- Take responsibility for crew safety; stop work if conditions are unsafe
- Complete required safety documentation (snapshots, safety talks, equipment inspections)
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and ready for planned work
- Coordinate with other Foremen/crews on overlapping work
- Record and submit daily quantities; reconcile with owner reps as needed
- Coordinate with Quality Control Manager/Project Engineer on QC compliance
- Determine traffic control requirements
- Determine plant production requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of foreman experience on highway/roadway construction projects
- Experience with project layout/set-up and scheduling manpower, equipment, and materials
- Knowledge of subgrade preparation, milling, and paving
- Strong decision-making, supervisory, scheduling, and delegation skills
- Ability to read and follow plans and DOT specifications
- Daily computer skills (electronic timecards, digital plans/memos, email)
- Professional work ethic and strong communication skills with owners, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Willing to travel, work various shifts, and follow all company safety policies
